About Daniel Romero
My name is Daniel Romero, and I am a Professional Photographer since 1988 who specializes in weddings and children’s portraiture . My recent efforts are strongly focused on these two areas of photography. I’m a member in good standing of WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) and PPA (Professional Photographers of America). I have earned PPA’s Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman degrees, as well as WPPI’s AOPA degree (“Accolade of Outstanding Photographic Achievement”).
I am privileged to have developed my photographic knowledge and style from years of training by world-class photographic masters, from attending the professional photography conventions held yearly by PPA and WPPI , and through my own experience photographing 50+ weddings a year over the past 15 years.
Since 1990, I have trained with Master Photographers including Monte Zucker, Don Blair, Dean Collins, David Sizer, David Smith, David Williams, Hanson Fong, Marcus Bell, Jerry Ghionis, Fay Sirkis, Yervant, and Joe Buissink , among others.
Since 1993 I have participated in many international photographic print competitions held in the United States. My prints have been awarded a total of 46 exhibition merits. Nine among my merited prints have been included in the PPA Loan Collection Book, which is a publication that includes the best images from each annual competition. I have been awarded the PPA 2008 Photographer of the Year award in the silver category. Over the past 5 years, I have had more than 30 prints included in the annual collection book published by WPPI called “Album”, which is the collection of the finest images from their annual international print competition.
I began photographing weddings using 100% digital technology in 2001, and have developed a strong expertise in this area. Because of my extensive experience and knowledge in the field, I have had the opportunity to teach many seminars in Puerto Rico covering such topics as creative lighting, retouching techniques, digital image manipulation using Photoshop, and the preparation of competition images from the initial raw image to the final print ready for evaluation.
I have spent my career developing and maintaining a strong expertise in the creation of high-quality photographs that are consistently awarded by international standards of excellence over the past 12 years. No other photographer in Puerto Rico holds these distinctions or my strong accreditation.
